HOW do you rid yourself of mental blocks?

When you know what to do to achieve success, and you know it works, how do you make yourself do it? Not to mention that it is extremely exasperating and annoying trying to do work when your brain simply refuses to co-operate. This is a problem all of us have faced at one time or another.

It’s a new year and a new beginning so lets tackle this year with grace and ease. I want to share with you some on my tricks on how to get rid of mental blacks so you can achieve your 2017 goals!

Step #1. Change the way you think.

Be aware of your thoughts and govern your attitude. If you work on improving the quality of your thoughts you will improve your ability to take action.

Shift from negative thoughts. Whenever I have a negative thought like “I can’t reach my goal because it will take too long” I try and think of another way to say it that won’t hinder me but will keep me focused on the end result. So I would say something like “My goal is taking longer than expected, so I need to adjust my schedule accordingly.” Being a single mom i’ve had to practice non attachment and allow myself to adjust accordingly because you never know what each day will bring.

Step #2. Limit your association with negative people.

Sadly, there are many people who choose to view the world in a negative way. Don’t let other peoples negative thoughts influence your mind and success. This might be a good time to evaluate who you are spending your time with. If you are around negative people on a regular basis their sour outlook will begin to affect you.

Sometimes its hard to completely eliminate negative people because they are friends, family, or co-workers but you can certainly limit the time you spend listening to their negative outlook on life.

Step #3. Let go of the past.

This was a huge one for me and I still struggle with it sometimes. It’s difficult, it takes practice and more practice!

Whatever has gone wrong in the past… whoever slighted you… whatever didn’t work out quite the way you intended… let it go! Just let it go!!!

Banish it from your mind and focus on the here and now. Past failures, rejections, or injustices will hold you back if you keep dragging them along with you. They will hinder your productive thinking and feelings that are needed to keep positive.

So it’s time to cut the chains! Your future is bright and is built from today forward.
