I am so excited to have launched my Total Shift Food Prep service. So many people fall short when it comes to eating. Figuring out what to eat, when to eat and incorporating a variety of foods is what we will focus on during our time together.
I’m here to walk you through the steps on how to shop and prepare your meals for the week. It’s important to create recipes and meals that combine the macronutrients – that’s carbs, protein and fats – with the micronutrients – vitamins, minerals and a lot of greens – in simple to prepare, tasty recipes that satisfy the palate and support the active body.
I don’t actually count or track calories as I find it more effective and sustainable to enjoy eating without worrying about a number, and that the body burns fat naturally when we are focused on whole, nutrient dense foods eaten in balance.
With that said, it can be very useful to track calories for a short period of time because it will teach you about what your foods are composed of – but I have found it’s easy to get too focused on the calorie which leads to less focus on how the body FEELS such as feeling full, hungry and its reaction is to the foods we are eating. It is very important to listen to your body because there might be foods you are eating that are not necessarily good for you, and you could be creating inflammation in the body. Inflammation is a very important topic so we can chat more about it when we are cooking. Point is listen to your body!
